Our last and final baby is due in October, a day after my birthday. I'm excited and worried. I worry about how Lily will take having another baby in the house. She loves to have me all to herself, but at the same time we wanted one more baby and I'd prefer to have someone close enough in age that she can play with. She'll be 26 months old when the baby is born.

My goal is to keep up with exercise and good eating and hopefully not put on more than 10-15lbs with this pregnancy. No major expenses for the new baby other than another car seat and well the new vehicle that I was planning on getting once I've done my taxes but that was already planned in so I'll save that extra money to pay off any bills that the insurance doesn't cover. We will not be finding out the gender of the baby. I'm going to leave the last one a surprise in the hopes that it helps make delivery easier because it will give me something extra to find out and look forward to.

This has been a week from hell. I'm so glad it's Friday. Went to bed Sunday, about an inch of snow on the ground and didn't look like much would happen, woke up Monday and there were 2 feet on the ground. Drove to my parents and dropped off the baby, got stuck in their driveway and had to dig myself out. Drove to work on sold ice, no plows were out. Fortunately there were only about 6" of snow in town. Emailed customers, let my boss know about the snow since he was flying in from California on Thursday but that it shouldn't be a big deal because the temps were suppose to get up to the 40's and 50's on Wednesday and Thursday. Look at the window at 11 and we're over a foot of snow in town now. Call my house to see how much is there, only a few more inches. Scrap an area to see how fast the snow is coming down. 1.5" an hour for the next couple of hours then it went up to 3" the last hour I was at work. Sent everyone home at 2:30, 2 feet o snow in town now. I left about 3. Really had to work to get out of the parking lot, drove home on ice that's now about 4" thick because they've only bothered to plow once or twice. Have to shoot through the snow in front of my driveway that's now been pushed to over 6' tall by the plows and get stuck about 30 feet in. Walk to my parents house which is 1/4 of a mile away to pick up the baby. The shallowest area is 3' and in some places it's up to mid-thigh. Pull a muscle in my leg, soaked to mid-thigh with melting snow which freezes to ice, manage to walk back home with baby in tow. Before I left work I told everyone we would be closed the next day due to snow and setup the phones for such. The next day spend about 12 hours digging out both vehicles. Other vehicle stuck in mud that was created after a bit of the snow melted, had to jack it up and put a board under the tire, finally got the car out Wednesday morning in -10 temps. Manage to make it to work Wednesday around 11, soaked and exhausted because I had to walk the baby down to my parent's house again. Wanted to clean my office for when my boss will be here on Thursday, but came in to tons of phone messages and emails, didn't get them all done and didn't get anything else done. Thursday morning, finished my back logged work and cleaned my office. Knocked my water carafe off my desk. The damn thing exploded when it hit the ground. I had about 5 pieces of glass fly up an stab my hands. The biggest was about the size of a dime and nearly sliced my finger half off. I remove it, gush blood all over and put pressure on the cut while removing the other pieces of glass from my hands. To go get stiches or not, no time, boss to arrive in about 60 minutes. Grab a animal first aid kit from my truck and put in two stitches. Sick from the pain but okay. Amazed I didn't say anything out of the norm when it happened and I had a customer on the phone I was helping with their software. Proceed to resplit open the cut numerous times. Got stuck in my parents driveway because I was driving in when my mom was coming out and I had to back up through the snow and slid off the drive. Had to push out the truck while she drove it. The only good thing is my boss went over my yearly review with me, 4.7 out of 5, all but two items he marked as outstanding, the other 2 are exceeds expectations so I should get a decent raise this year again.

Santa brought our family DDR mats and a couple of the games for part of our Christmas presents. OMG I wish I would have gotten one of these long before now. It is so much fun to compete with my daughter and burn off calories while dancing away. I'm so hoping I don't get bored with this, but so far it's been a total blast and we've easily spent at least an hour a day on it since Christmas and would spend longer but the baby wants to dance too and will only watch for so long while eating her dinner or playing with her toys.

Christmas was a blast. I can't wait till this weekend when I have another 4 days off and can enjoy the spoils of Christmas a bit more. I mainly got books and movies. I also got a pressure cooker which I'm dying to use to do some more canning with. I finally got around to canning veggies from the garden this last summer and they are wonderful but unfortunately almost all gone because everyone loves them so much. I'm planning to can some stews and chilis and stuff with the pressure canner the next time we butcher some of the goats which we really need to do but just haven't had time to do. I've got to cut down on the goats food bill though as feeding 40+ goats is just too excessive right now with how high hay prices are.

    December update
My last entry was about the time I fell off the wagon, but the good news is I haven't gained any weight since that time. I figured I'd hit the dieting full force January, but plans have now changed as I'm pregnant. I don't suppose I'll get lucky this 2nd time and drop weight like I did with the first kid though. I'm hoping to keep my gain at the recommended 10-15lbs for someone that's overweight at the start of pregnancy and then drop weight later. I'll keep up with the exercise and healthy eating in the meantime.

    Weight Update
The last update was like July but I've been doing okay. Fall/Winter are always the hardest for me. I've been struggling to find some motivation. However the good news is I've been easily maintaining the same weight for several months now which has to be a goal for me since I haven't really been dieting. In thinking back on my change back to being a vegetarian I never did really gain weight after I'd become a vegetarian and maintained well, it was before and after that I put most of the weight on so I definitely feel this is a good choice for me, plus I haven't been at all sick since I changed over again and I've been exposed to all kinds of flus and other garbage.

Now if only I can find some motivation. I'd really like to get down to 295 before the end of the year.

    Weight Update
Only 8lbs down in the last month. Not great but it could be worse especially considering I didn't stick to my plan every day either, in fact most weekends I just gave in and ate more but didn't eat bad, just more calories that I had planned on.

Not too shabby I must say so. It's definitely going a bit slower now, but I've got hope of getting below the big 300. I'm definitely liking the 10lb goals with a reward at the end of each. Each time I think of something I want. I add it to my wish list on Amazon, then about 5lbs before I reach my goal I order it so it's here in time for when I reach my goal. I'm also giving myself a longer predetermined time to reach my goals. I'm happy with 10 lbs a month and so far I'm way ahead of my self but I figure when I hit some slower times it will all even out. I'd realistically like to lose 80-100 lbs when a year is up but would be satisfied with 50. I feel so much better about myself this time round. My self esteem is definitely better and I feel a lot more optimistic about the weight loss and more hopeful. I don't have the cravings I had all the other times, well once in a rare while I'd like a cookie or slice of cake but they are so much easier to resist this time. I definitely think going back to being a vegetarian was a good move.

    Updated Entry
For those of you that were wondering where I've been. I was having loads of problems sticking to my diet, and had some depression going on. However I got back on track last week.

So starting weight for this go round is: 348
    CW: 338

I was at 334 yesterday but didn't drink enough water so I'm sure I'll be back down to that tomorrow or the next day. I'm happy to have no really had any real gain while I was off course. I've got some extra motivation to start with again though and have been doing very well. I have had no desires to eat bad food. I'm enjoying myself more this time around. For breakfast I'm eating fruit. Then for lunch I usually have a sandwich or something else very light. Then for dinner a slightly larger course. Lately it's consisted of a couple of cups a soup and a large amount of veggies plus something small for dessert, a pudding, popcorn, or small glass of chocolate milk. I get a bit hungry around late morning, and then late afternoon so I might adjust with a snack perhaps half an apple for each or something. I'm also border-lining on becoming a vegetarian again. I was for 10 years and had very little weight gain during that time. I find it's just harder to over-eat on mainly fruits and veggies because you can eat a lot more of them.

No loss, no gain. I'm not too upset by this. I haven't been measuring my food, or even sticking to my scheduled calorie plan because I've been doing a lot of extra hard labor and just been tired, but I haven't slacked off either. I'm mindful of what I eat and in not going overboard. The first couple days the scale jumped up a bit but I think it was because I wasn't drinking enough water, the last couple of days it dropped back down and I expect to see a loss for next week.

I'm very happy with this, I was happy this morning when I thought it was just 2lbs of loss but the extra lb was definitely a hang over from last week. I'm 9lbs away from my first mini goal, and have 35 days to lose it which is still definitely doable. Plus this week I've gotten out and walked 12 miles even on days where the weather wasn't so good or I didn't really feel like walking I made myself every other day go walking at lunch and felt better when I was done.

Actually I'm not upset with this. Based on being sick, it being that time of month, and having gone too far overboard over the weekend before Valentine's day I'm pretty happy with staying the same, however I expect a decent loss next week. This week I've gotten out of my slump and have gone for walks 2 days at lunch time. I'm resting today though cause my calfs hurt a bit and I don't want to push it too far and cause damage. Tomorrow I'll be getting in some form of exercise depending upon the weather it might just be spring cleaning but that can burn some major calories, or if it clears up I have fencing to put up before my baby goats are born in a few weeks, another major calorie burner though.

I'm pretty proud of myself last night. I had munchies sooo bad, but decided it was because I was really hungry, so I munched on a handful of reduced fat cheezits, and although there was this fattening box of regular ones just staring at me waiting to be opened that I'd gotten during that weekend before Valentine's day, I resisted the urge. I put on dinner and went and read and told myself if I still had super munchies after dinner then I could have 1 serving, but after dinner and my skinny cow dessert I was fine. I love the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. The mint and Peanut butter and chocolate ones are my favorites and I find them much more satisfying then a small serving of low cal, no sugar ice cream too.

I've been thinking through the whole exercise thing and couldn't figure out a way I'd be able to get it in with my schedule because in a few weeks I will have to start milking goats in the morning and evening, and my schedule will look like this. 4AM wake up milk goats until 6AM, then get ready for work and leave at 6:30 to drive to work, 7-4 work, 4:30 start dinner and milk goats from 4:30 - 6:30, from 6:30-7:30 homeschool my daughter and eat dinner, 7:30-8:30 clean house 8:30-9:00 read and then it's off to bed. The only good thing is that the milking should move from taking about 2 hours to taking around an hour once I get my new girls use to the milk stand and I'm also hoping to get either my daughter or bf to starting milking with me, that way we could milk out everyone in about 30 minutes once they got good at it. Then over the weekends I'll have extra time to exercise in between cheese and soap making, training goats for the shows we attend, and other livestock chores. Then starting in April I'll be working 6-3 instead of 7-4 but hopefully I won't have to get up earlier than 4AM when that happens. So based on the above my only real time I can exercise will be my 1 hour lunch break, and weekends. I'm just going to make a point of eating my lunch at my desk 30 minutes before I leave for my 1 hour lunch break, then use my 1 hour lunch break to go to one of the trails and walk for 30 minutes or so.

Yay, I got my new pedometer yesterday. I'm sooooo happy with it. It stores the past 7 days and is very accurate. In case anyone wants to know it is an Omron walking style, plus it has a little safety clip so that if the main clip slides off you don't lose it. It does calories, distance and steps and counts aerobic steps separately.

Yay, I'm super happy with a 1 lb loss, considering how up the scale has been most of this week. I'm sure if I got more exercise it would be better but I won't complain. My new pedometer comes next week so that should help revive the motivation to get in the extra exercise! I'm making a rule in my house when it comes. No one eats dinner till the 5000 steps are in for each of us, then each week I'd like to add on 500-1000 steps until I get it up to 10,000 a day.

Okay, I bought a new pedometer, the one I really wanted but it won't be here for like 5-10 days. I couldn't bring myself to paying to have it rushed so....

Also I'm so close to breaking down and posting before pictures since everyone else on 100poundstolose is. I figure the pictures hopefully look worse to me than to others since I know I'm hard on myself to begin with. Maybe I'll throw in a old before before picture of when I was close to the weight I should be but only cause my thyroid went all out of whack when I was pregnant. I guess I'll be home cropping and scanning some pictures unless I chicken out.

The other good thing is that apparently it was a water issue cause I've doubled my water intake and my weight is back down to where it was last week, so I'm still hopeful of showing maybe a lb loss this Friday. I've also started taking some herbs to correct my metabolism and thyroid cause as I mentioned above it went out of whack when I was pregnant and was very overactive, unfortunately as soon as I had my daughter it slowed down to a crawl. I gained 10lbs from before I gave birth to an hour after without eating, wtf? is what everyone was saying basically, even the doctors, but unfortunately it's been an upwards battle since that time as well, but the doctors up here are really old fashioned and believe if you are fat you overeat and are lazy and won't even look at thyroid or metabolism issues so... One really good side-effect though is that I now sleep through the night. I haven't slept through the night since I was like 7 years old. I have horrible insomnia 95% of the time, but 3 nights in a row I've slept through and it feels soooo good. Oddly enough I was about 7 when I started putting on the weight too. I know that these issues are definitely linked now before they weren't as bad until I had my daughter though.

Yay for herbs, yay for pedometers, yay for sleep and yay to losing weight. I'll get back to normal even if it's a battle. I refuse to lose. I might fall off the wagon but I'll get back on and try again until I succeed!

This is so sad, but I've been seriously unmotivated to exercise. However I'm gonna move the bike into the game room, then if I'm play a game I have to petal at the same time. No more gamecube without exercising at the same time, it's just too pathetic.

I'm gonna break down and buy the new pedometer this week after I get paid. It was just so motivational to have the other one. I'll just have to think of another reward for when I get to 330 is all. I don't know what but I'm sure I can think of something.

Ugg I lost my pedometer I think I lost it in my house but I'm not 100% positive and I've been looking everywhere. I don't like it that much, but I'd figured out how to make it pretty accurate and I wasn't going to get the good expensive one till I hit my first short term goal of 330. :(

I can't decide what to do, break down and just buy the good one I want or do some other form of exercise and make getting the good one more worth while, and hope that in the meantime I find the other one?

Plus I'm frustrated cause ever since Friday I've been good with my eating and exercise but the scale keeps going up. I'm hoping it's just water retention but still it's driving me up the wall cause it's taking me even farther away from that 330 goal so I can get my new pedometer. :(

    Current Mood: grumpy
